Good morning to all. This is the latest weather update for the day of Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
00:09
At the moment, we are not being watched by LPA or typhoons inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility,
00:17
even though we can still expect the rainy season in a large part of our country.
00:22
This is due to the weather systems that are continuously affecting our rivers.
00:27
These typhoons that we are witnessing in our latest satellite animation,
00:31
which are continuously affecting parts of the Southern Luzon and Kabisayaan,
00:36
are due to the effect of the shear line or the cold and hot winds.
00:41
And because of the effect of the shear line,
00:43
we will still experience moderate to heavy rains in parts of Kabisayaan as well as in the Southern Luzon today.
00:51
Meanwhile, here in Luzon,
00:53
there is a continuous shear line of cold and hot winds or North-East Monsoon,
00:56
and this will also result in heavy rains in a large part of the Northern and Central Luzon
01:01
as well as in some parts of the Southern Luzon today.
01:05
There is also a part of Mindanao,
01:07
where we can also see these typhoons that are mostly affecting the eastern sections of the Mindanao area.
01:15
Those are the easterlies or the hot winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
01:20
So we expect that within the day,
01:22
we will still experience heavy rains in the easterlies of the Mindanao area.
01:27
Meanwhile, for the rest of Mindanao,
01:29
there are only isolated or sudden rains.
01:35
And for the next few days,
01:36
we expect that the effect of the shear line will continue in the easterlies of Luzon over the next few days.
01:43
But we expect that the effect of the shear line will slowly weaken.
01:48
Before the end of the week,
01:49
we expect that the weather conditions will improve in a large part of our country.
01:55
This will be possible on Thursday.
01:59
Let's talk about the weather conditions today in Luzon,
02:02
as we mentioned earlier,
02:04
a part of Luzon will still experience heavy rains that will affect the easterlies as well as the shear line.
02:11
There are parts of the Northern and Central Luzon and some parts of the Southern Luzon,
02:15
particularly in Cagayan Valley,
02:17
Cordillera Administrative Region,
02:19
Central Luzon, Metro Manila,
02:22
and Scalabar Zone,
02:23
we expect light to moderate rainfalls that will affect the easterlies.
02:29
Meanwhile, in Aurora, Quezon, Mimaropa, and Bicol Region,
02:36
it is still possible to experience moderate to heavy rainfalls that will affect the shear line.
02:43
Be careful, especially in Quezon and Bicol Region,
02:46
as well as in the provinces,
02:48
it is still possible to experience heavy rainfalls that will affect the shear line
02:54
and possibly flooding and landslides,
02:58
especially since in the past few days,
03:00
the effects of the shear line have continued.
03:04
Especially in Bicol Region,
03:06
be careful, especially in the low-lying or hazard-prone areas.
03:14
In Ilocos Region,
03:16
we will experience cloudy to cloudy skies
03:20
and there are chances of floods or sudden rains.
03:26
Temperature forecast for the neighboring cities in Luzon,
03:30
in Luzon,
03:31
for Lawag,
03:32
it will be 22 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:36
For Tuguegarao,
03:37
maximum temperature will be 28 degrees Celsius.
03:40
In Baguio,
03:41
it will be 15 to 24.
03:43
For Metro Manila,
03:44
30 degrees Celsius maximum temperature
03:46
is expected to be experienced today.
03:50
In Legazpi,
03:51
the maximum temperature will be 24 to 26 degrees Celsius.
03:56
For Tagaytay,
03:57
the maximum temperature will be 20 to 28 degrees Celsius.
04:02
The weather will change in many parts of the country.
04:06
For Palawan and Visayas,
04:08
we expect scattered rains or thunderstorms
04:11
to affect the shear line.
04:14
So, be careful, fellow citizens.
04:16
For Palawan area,
04:17
we expect that heavy rainfall will gradually decrease.
04:22
It will still rain,
04:23
but not as much as the previous days.
04:28
For the eastern sections of Mindanao,
04:30
due to the effect of the easterly,
04:32
we will experience scattered rains,
04:35
thunderstorms,
04:36
and lightning.
04:37
For the rest of Mindanao,
04:39
we expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies.
04:42
There are chances of sudden rains or thunderstorms
04:47
due to isolated thunderstorms
04:49
that are more common in the afternoon or night.
04:53
For the surrounding cities,
04:56
for Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao area,
04:59
the maximum temperature for Palawan,
05:01
particularly in Kalayaan Islands,
05:03
will reach 29 degrees Celsius
05:05
and 30 degrees Celsius for Puerto Princesa.
05:09
Temperature in Iloilo is 24 to 31,
05:13
Cebu is 25 to 30,
05:15
and Tacloban will reach 28 degrees Celsius.
05:20
For Mindanao, Zamboanga will reach 24 to 34 degrees Celsius,
05:26
30 degrees Celsius for Cagayan de Oro,
05:29
and Davao will reach 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
05:35
According to our latest weather advisory,
05:38
we expect that the effect of the shear line will continue,
05:42
especially in the eastern sections of Luzon in the coming days.
05:46
Today, we still expect moderate to heavy rains
05:49
in the Bicol region,
05:51
as well as in Quezon and the provinces of Maropa and Visayas.
05:56
But when tomorrow comes,
05:58
the axis of the shear line will gradually increase.
06:01
It is possible that the effect of the shear line
06:05
in the Bicol region will gradually decrease
06:07
and affect the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon.
06:11
So tomorrow, we may experience moderate to heavy rains
06:16
in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Marines Norte.
06:22
So be careful, our fellow countrymen,
06:25
because it is possible that floods or landslides will occur,
06:28
especially in hazard-prone or low-lying areas.
06:33
As for the condition of our ocean,
06:35
we still have a gale warning in the coastal areas of Catanduanes,
06:40
particularly in the northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes.
06:44
For now, we still expect a high tide
06:48
in the so-called coastal areas,
06:50
but the effect of the wind will gradually decrease.
06:54
So it is possible that within the day,
06:56
we will lift the gale warnings
06:59
in the coastal areas of our country.
07:02
For now, it is still dangerous to sail
07:05
in the coastal areas of Catanduanes,
07:07
especially for our fellow countrymen
07:09
who have small marine vehicles.
07:12
Our sunrise this morning is 6.22 a.m.
07:15
and our sunset is 5.59 p.m.
