00:00The Department of Health or DOH is intensifying its initiatives to enhance Filipinos access to

00:04essential health services. This effort includes the effective implementation of community-based

00:09health programs in collaboration with local government units or LGUs. Rod Laguzad has more.

00:18The Department of Health continues to strengthen its efforts to provide more Filipinos with access

00:22to essential health services. This includes the effective implementation of community-based health

00:27initiatives with the help of local government units. The DOH stressed that a healthy community

00:33is beyond the implementation of health programs. It focuses on different factors that affect an

00:38individual's overall health which includes quality health services and that no one is

00:42facing financial hardship to avail of this program. Promoting and recognizing healthy

00:48communities means acknowledging the vital role that the local governance plays in shaping

00:55environments, policies, and behaviors in ways that promote collective well-being. As a result,

01:02the Pasay City LGU was awarded Kampiyon ng Kalusugan ng Mga Komunidad by the Department

01:07of Health. This recognition is based on the joint administrative order of the DOH in partnership

01:12with the Department of the Interior and Local Government. For the Pasay City LGU, it is

01:17important to ensure sustainability in the implementation of DOH policies and programs

01:22including universal health care.

01:24We have 13 health centers where we provide all the services that our countrymen should receive.

01:32These health centers will be like small hospitals where there will be birthing or delivery,

01:41different laboratory examinations, even X-ray rooms. Our health center has its own.

01:48This also includes other facilities and the establishment of pharmacy and health centers

01:52and continuing development of the Hospital of the City.
