00:00I think we had to take some responsibility.
00:15We also did really good sprint preparations, thanks to the boys, and they set me up really
00:19well.
00:20Looking better than just about everybody at the moment is Olaf Koi.
00:23No challenges at all.
00:25Head and shoulders above everybody.
00:28We had an agreement with the team to just attack and to try and to see, but then I went
00:32and I was alone and I was like, oh, this is impossible.
00:35I don't think to stop, but then I heard the Q36 guy came, the Spanish was really strong
00:39and I think with the two of us, we make a really nice race.
00:42Two now chasing together.
00:44Well, the chasers are now just about to bridge.
00:47I believed it was possible, but after the climb, I have to admit, I couldn't find the
00:53legs again anymore.
00:54I couldn't find the real pace.
00:55I was just struggling and fighting and dying until the finish line.
00:59Oh, look at this, a powertrain behind him.
01:03That was a piece of glass.
01:05Brilliant.
01:06Genius at work.
01:14Finally, after 10 years.
01:19I have no expectations for GC.
01:21I think we have really strong leaders with Paget-Pintre and Mori.
01:24So tomorrow, again, what I do always is working for my leaders.
01:40I'm really motivated.
01:41I think there are still other riders who will be very strong.
01:45Actually, today and the last one is the one of the stage that we look forward.
01:52Adam looks in good shape and we will try to do the race with him for the final.
01:59This year is a little bit different than last year.
02:01Last year, obviously, I had the big goal of U8 or after this.
02:04And yeah, I was in really top shape.
02:06Whereas this year, I think purposely I've taken it a little bit easier.
02:11Days like this are always sent to test.
02:14The GC men finally on the rack with a big kicker at the end.
02:18Ramps of 13% as well.
02:20No laughing matter.
02:22A breakaway took it on.
02:24They were determined.
02:26All six of them started to shred.
02:28Sometimes their tyres, sometimes the tarmac was tasted.
02:31But ultimately, there would be two left up front.
02:35They themselves would start to navigate the final tests.
02:40Who would be last man standing?
02:42The answer was Vinokurov.
02:44He went for it.
02:46When would the others be tempted to chase?
02:52Time to get serious.
02:55This day is a preamble to the Green Mountain.
02:58It doesn't mean it's any easier.
03:00In fact, with some fresh legs and maybe fresh minds,
03:04this was always going to be an ultimate test.
03:06And so it proved to be.
03:07Our race leader went backwards.
03:09Guddu went forwards.
03:10So did Utterbrooks.
03:11Adam Yates also in the frame.
03:13Everybody wanted a piece of the cake.
03:15But only one would taste it.
03:18Phenomenal drama towards the end.
03:20In fact, after such a tough day, we actually got ourselves a sprint.
03:24Can you believe it?
03:25You better had.
03:26The Tour of Oman has shaped up to be full of drama.
03:29And we had plenty of that, even at the very last.
03:32Adam Yates going into the slipstream, coming around the outside.
03:35Brilliant response from Guddu.
03:37He kicked on and ultimately took the first big scalp stage-wise of this race.
03:43He measured himself against the best and he passed the test.
03:57It was a great battle with Adam.
04:01He was very strong.
04:02I had to catch up several times before I managed to let him go.
04:05In the end, he came back and that played out in the last straight of the sprint.
04:10I'm really happy to have been able to beat him,
04:13especially after the work the team has been doing since day one.
04:17So I'm really, really happy.
04:20Guddu takes the day, takes our hearts and takes himself.
04:23A red jersey as well.
04:25He leads with two stages to go.
