Wendy Williams’ Guardian Responds After TV Host Denies Being Incapacitated w_ Dementia

00:04The drama continues between Wendy Williams and her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey.

00:09During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, Williams spoke out about her health,

00:12claiming that she is not incapacitated by dementia.

00:16I'm dealing with these court people and my guardian person, and that is the big deal.

00:22So you know what? I don't have frontal temporal dementia, you know what I'm saying?

00:26It's disgusting. That is a very rare thing for anybody to have.

00:31You understand what I'm saying?

00:33It's like one of those types of things where I'd be a blibbering idiot,

00:38like I can't take a shower, I can't dress myself, I can't speak, I can't listen.

00:43Now her guardian, Morrissey, has requested a new medical evaluation.

00:47The court filing for the request came just hours after the former talk show host

00:52spoke on the radio program.

00:54In the legal filings obtained by Access Hollywood,

00:57Morrissey says in these statements, Williams has indicated that in her opinion,

01:02she is not suffering from dementia and is not incapacitated.

01:06Morrissey is seeking a new medical evaluation that will involve comprehensive

01:11neurological and psychological testing by a specialist in the field.

01:15During her appearance on the show, Williams also addressed a lawsuit

01:18filed against A&E Television Networks, Lifetime Entertainment and other

01:23affiliates after docu-series Where Is Wendy Williams aired in February of last year.

01:29Listen, I've been in this guardianship for this long of an amount of time,

01:33and now A&E Lifetime, this lawsuit, please, I don't want that.

01:38I don't want a dime from that. I don't want any part of that.

01:42They insist on me telling everybody that I have frontal temporal dementia.

01:47It's disgusting that I have a fake frontal temporal dementia.

01:52Yeah, especially if somebody is trying to file a lawsuit on your behalf,

01:56and they're using that to try to win this lawsuit against A&E,

01:58which you say you don't want no parts of the lawsuit.

02:02In an earlier filing obtained by Access Hollywood, the defendants in the suit

02:06claim that the documentary was conceived of with Williams, quote, consent,

02:11input and participation prior to her diagnosis and guardianship.

02:16The latest court papers address Williams' new comments and note that she, quote,

02:21appeared to indicate that she does not want to proceed with the action.

02:24Morrissey added that she has no interest in pursuing further litigation

02:28if in the extremely unlikely event that the new medical examination

02:32finds that Williams somehow now has the mental capacity to direct the lawsuit.
