00:05Kanye West is speaking out about his new diagnosis.

00:08The Carnival rapper told Justin Leboy on the Download podcast on February 4th,

00:13he actually doesn't have bipolar disorder, but rather autism.

00:17Kanye credits his wife, Bianca Sensori, for the discovery, saying,

00:21I went to this doctor, one that worked with Justin Bieber, one that worked with,

00:26I'm not even gonna name other names and stuff.

00:28My wife took me to do that because she said,

00:31something about your personality doesn't feel like it's bipolar.

00:36I've seen bipolar before. I've seen, she's educated, so I've seen

00:40bipolar before and come to find out it's really a case of autism.

00:45Kanye has been open about his struggles with mental health,

00:48sharing his bipolar diagnosis following a hospitalization in 2016

00:52when he suffered a psychiatric emergency.

00:55The constant feeling of not being in control, spun me out of control.

01:02And the artist says, along with his new diagnosis,

01:05he's stopped taking bipolar medication.

01:08But one of his biggest challenges?

01:09Doing the opposite of what everyone says.

01:15oh man, I'm gonna wear this Trump hat, because it's like Trump in general.

01:19And then when people tell you to not do it, you just get on that one point.

01:24And that's my problem. When fans tell me to do my album a certain way,

01:29I'll do it the opposite way.
