U.S. President Donald Trump has caused an outcry by saying that the U.S. should take over the Gaza Strip after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere and develop it economically, a move that would shatter decades of U.S. policy toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Trump unveiled his surprise plan, without providing specifics, at a joint press conference with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

00:00The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it, too.
00:05We'll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and
00:10other weapons on the site, level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level
00:17it out, create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and
00:22housing for the people of the area.
00:26I do see a long-term ownership position, and I see it bringing great stability to that
00:33part of the Middle East and maybe the entire Middle East.
00:36And everybody I've spoken to – this was not a decision made lightly – everybody
00:40I've spoken to loves the idea of the United States owning that piece of land, developing
00:46and creating thousands of jobs with something that will be magnificent in a really magnificent
00:51area that nobody would know.
00:53Everybody can look because all they see is death and destruction and rubble and demolished
00:59buildings falling all over.

I really wish we would focus on our issues within our country before we go out and try to save people who didn't ask for it and are against it

Wow, am I really the first comment on this? What does everybody think? At face value, it seems like it would add stability. Clearly, there’s plenty of ulterior motives here, but somebody is willing to step up to the plate and provide the resources necessary to make that area stable. That is great in my opinion. My bad if this is misunderstood. Clearly any country could’ve stepped up and offered the same. Clearly the world will not allow Israel to administer the area. The other areas administration is not stepping up to the plate either. And Hamm is trying to reestablish it’s military wing. As this is not acceptable, any great country willing to administer the area would be great, in my opinion.
