00:19It certainly is a little bit more measured, but I think it will nevertheless be a repeat,

00:24in the sense that this is just the opening salvos from both sides.

00:28Trump, during the election campaign, said that he was going to levy up to 60% tariffs on Chinese goods.

00:34So what we're seeing today is really low compared to what he has previously talked about.

00:39Similarly for the Chinese, their counter-retaliatory measures have been pretty limited

00:46and controlled in the areas that they're talking about.

00:49As a correspondent said there, it will be a week until they really come into play.

00:53So basically, both sides are dancing around this question of negotiations.

00:57And the Chinese side have said, basically, we're going to dance with you.

01:01We're going to see what you want. But let's talk. We're not just going to back down.
