The US President said he wouldn't rule out deploying US troops to support reconstruction of Gaza after permanently resettling displaced Palestinians outside the war torn region.

00:06permanently resettling displaced Palestinians outside the war-torn region.

00:11The president added that he wouldn't rule out deploying U.S. troops to support Gaza's

00:16reconstruction.

00:17The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip and we will do a job with it too.

00:23We'll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and

00:28other weapons on the site, level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level

00:35it out, create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and

00:40housing for the people of the area.

00:44Trump's comments came as he welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for talks

00:49at the White House, the first foreign leader to visit the U.S. president in his second

00:54term.

00:55Their meeting comes amid discussions of a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas

01:01and a temporary truce deal for Gaza's reconstruction, something that Trump and his advisers have

01:06claimed is not viable.

01:10But Egypt and Jordan, as well as other Arab nations, have rejected calls by Trump to relocate

01:15the territory's 2.3 million Palestinians.

01:20And although hard-line right-wing members of Netanyahu's government have embraced Trump's

01:25comments, the Israeli Prime Minister is also facing pressure to end the temporary truce

01:30and continue with the war.

01:32Meanwhile, protesters and families of Israeli hostages in Gaza marched to the U.S. embassy

01:39in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, calling on President Trump to reach an agreement to release all

01:44the remaining hostages.
