00:34If Panama does not immediately take measures to reduce China's influence on the Panama Canal region,

00:48and immediately announced that Panama would withdraw from the Belt and Road Initiative.

01:08In 2017, it established diplomatic relations with China and signed into the Belt and Road Initiative.

01:19unless either party terminates the contract.

01:21So far, China and Panama have renewed contracts twice in 2020 and 2023.

01:27However, Muliño has not yet said when he will inform the Chinese government that they will terminate the contract.

01:34U.S. Secretary of State Rubio, who visited Panama for the first time since taking office last Saturday,
