Automating mundane tasks with AI

AI helps to free human from mundane tasks so people can focus on creativity and tasks that require general intelligence, Manolis Kellis, Professor of AI and Computer Science at MIT, tells Al Arabiya News.

00:00Should we worry that reliance on AI, artificial intelligence, might diminish human interaction?

00:07I would say on the contrary.

00:09Right now, humans are spending an enormous amount dealing with mundane tasks, dealing

00:14with paperwork, dealing with minutes from meetings, dealing with filling out tasks that

00:24are quite mundane.

00:26By having AI additional, the more mundane, the more systematic and brutal and repetitive,

00:32you can now free up human creativity for more challenging tasks, tasks that really require

00:40this general intelligence that we still are unique in having, but at the same time, it

00:45can free up people to spend perhaps a little bit more time with their families, a little

00:50bit more time taking care of the elderly, taking care of their children, spending time

00:54with their loved ones.
