00:00We have worked hard for two years. Our first platform on OTT goes to Credit Sony Live.
00:11First of all, they told us that we need something national on our platform.
00:17We want to bring the audience of Viva and Hum Saath Saathi.
00:21They made a young love story for us so that the whole family can watch it together.
00:27We want to give a family viewing experience which personally touched me a lot.
00:32Because generally OTT belongs to action, glamour and urban.
00:38So from there this inspiration started.
00:41Then we got the story of Manasvi ji.
00:45Then Palash came and we thought that he is our first.
00:49So we must get someone who has experience.
00:52So Palash agreed and Palash worked on it and credit to him.
00:57The main inspiration for both of us was the story.
01:02This story is about a boy and a girl from a small town, Ratlam, Ujjain.
01:07They have come to Bombay to achieve something, to make their family proud.
01:12They want to do something with a restless soul but they find it difficult to fit in.
01:17We are not able to fit in and we are not able to become what our parents expect us to be.
01:25We tell Ratlam to go to Hanuman temple at 6 every day and fast for Ekadashi.
01:32So where is all this happening in the traffic of Bombay?
01:35So how a boy and a girl fall in love and how to balance this is what Varanam will do.
01:41The rest is a director's vision.
01:48For me, the most difficult part was when I was looking for a chance to work with Suraj sir.
01:58Suraj sir had seen my old work and had called me to meet him.
02:02So I was wondering if this is really happening.
02:06I was getting a chance to work with him.
02:08And when he told me the story, the story was very relatable and you immediately connect.
02:15So now it is a responsibility.
02:17Because Rajshri sir, the way he has made it a family entertainment,
02:24the way he has captured the screen,
02:29I have a lot of fear in me.
02:33But that fear is also a challenge.
02:37It will be fun to do this.
02:39And you will get to learn a lot from a director like him.
02:43Because we have grown up watching his films.
02:46And I have never learned anything from a film school.
02:51So for me, it is a dream come true to get a chance to work with him.
02:54And then we started working with him.
02:57We have learned a lot.
02:59Because it was the first web series.
03:01So how does the cold opening of Palash Se Sita happen?
03:04How is it edited?
03:06Today I always tell Palash that
03:08even in films, directors do their second project after shooting.
03:13As a director, you are sitting on music, DI, editing.
03:18So we get to learn all these things.
03:20Why is the world of OTT moving forward today?
03:23Because so much attention is given to quality.
03:32And I think Palash will also agree.
03:34A story tells itself that it will be completed in 2.5 hours.
03:39Or like we make TV shows.
03:41It will take 6-7 months.
03:43Or it will end in 9 episodes.
03:46So we need a medium to tell our story.
03:50At Rashtri, my elder son Devansh handles TV.
03:55So he also wanted us to come on OTT.
03:57So we have been trying for a long time.
03:59But this coincidence happened.
04:02And I believe that every maker doesn't want to think about big or small.
04:07Today everything has become one.
04:09Everyone has big TVs at home.
04:11Now everything has become one.
04:13We have to see how to tell our story best.
04:16We are basically storytellers.
04:23When you came in the team, I asked if you were ready.
04:26It was very exciting.
04:28Along with that, as an artist, as a director,
04:32you have a greed for learning.
04:36And when learning stops in any work,
04:38you want to move on.
04:40The stories we are telling,
04:44the shows we are making,
04:46here for any artist,
04:48cast or crew member,
04:50there is a constant learning.
04:53Here, as a student,
04:57because sir is a film school,
05:01I was working here as a student.
05:04But sir gave me complete trust,
05:08complete freedom.
05:10If this is your conviction,
05:12then do it according to it.
05:14Don't trust the formula,
05:18don't trust the standards.
05:21Do it and it will work.
05:23That's what we are trying to do.
