00:00DSWD's FORPEACE or Patawit Pamilya Pilipino program is a government anti-poverty scheme
00:06that works and has been one of the most successful poverty mitigation programs ever.
00:11The self-help program provides qualified beneficiaries with monthly allowances to
00:17let them finish school and hopefully reintegrate themselves as productive members of society
00:23once they find work. But this time, the DSWD is taking it a step further by helping them
00:29work as our Rod Laguzat reports.
00:34The government's goal for beneficiaries of the FORPEACE or Patawit Pamilyang Pilipino
00:38program is to help them break free from poverty. Because of this, a job fair was organized to
00:43assist graduating FORPEACE beneficiaries to continue to improve their lives.
00:47This is a Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas job fair held at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
00:59Despite the long lines, Annalyn and Rodalyn remain on face.
01:29They were among the 12,000 graduating FORPEACE beneficiaries who attended the event,
01:43with 94 employers participating.
02:13Additionally, P3,000 were distributed to FORPEACE members at the said job fair to
02:24cover pre-employment requirements such as medical examination and transportation allowance.
02:29Pre-employment advisory services were also provided by various agencies like Pag-ibig Fund,
02:34PhilHealth, SSS, and others. Apart from this, Dakadiwa ng Pangulo was also present,
02:39selling affordable goods such as rice that can be bought at P29.
02:42Overall, the Department of Agriculture aims to further lower rice prices.
03:12The target price for this rice is P38 per kilo.
