00:35On Thursday, five of the six Thai agricultural workers were released, including Waro's son

00:42Wachara Siraun.

00:44There are still two foreign hostages being held by Hamas, one more Thai worker and Bepin

00:50Joshi, a Nepalese student.

00:53The bodies of two Thai nationals and that of a Tanzanian student also remain in the

00:57hands of Hamas.

00:59Shortly after their release, Thailand's Prime Minister, Phetthongthang Sinawat, said

01:05she was elated.

01:07Many of the hostages taken during the October 7th attacks held foreign passports.

01:12In November 2023, 23 Thai hostages were released as part of a deal negotiated between Thailand

01:18and several Arab nations.

01:21Thais also made up the largest single group of foreign dead and missing, with 24 confirmed

01:26killed and 21 unaccounted for.

01:29There were approximately 30,000 Thai workers, primarily in the agricultural sector, working

01:35in Israel prior to the October 7th attacks.
