00:00I can tell you I haven't done six years of Very Scary People.

00:04It gets scary sometimes, like, legit.

00:07Like, some of the stories are pretty heavy.

00:09And, you know, I've spent all these years

00:12coming on to Jenny and saying,

00:13oh my God, we did this and we did that.

00:15And I think when we,

00:18when our company took over producing the show,

00:22Work Baby Productions, which is our production company,

00:25I think it just, we just kind of started talking spinoffs

00:29and Jenny had all these great ideas.

00:31And Very Scary Lovers was kind of

00:34not the first one we thought of.

00:36It was actually a...

00:37Survivors?

00:38Yeah, there was all types of spinoffs

00:40that we were thinking of.

00:41And I think we talked to the network

00:43and they were like,

00:44we'd love to do one with both of you.

00:45I just thought like, all right, I'll do scary people.

00:47You can do scary housewives or this or that.

00:49And the network was like,

00:50how about you two together for Scary Lovers?

00:52And we were like, together?

00:54Like, we don't get opportunities to work together

00:57that much unless we're, you know,

00:59doing interviews together or stuff like that.

01:01So to do something like this

01:03and to be producers on the show too,

01:05I think it's too much to pass up.

01:07Plus, you know, just from Very Scary People,

01:09when Donnie would come home

01:11or we'd watch the shows together,

01:13I'm obviously a true crime fan,

01:15but I would also,

01:16I'm that person that goes deep dive into rabbit holes.

01:18So I'm like, I need more, I need more, I need more.

01:20So having him next to me,

01:21I can dissect more out of him.

01:23Because I know he does a podcast

01:24associated with it so he has more details.

01:26So I'm like, oh good,

01:27now I'm gonna satisfy all of my own cravings

01:30when it comes to true crime

01:31and find out the reasons why,

01:32which is another reason why I love true crime.

01:34I love figuring out the psychology behind all of it.

01:36Yeah, and if you're into true crime

01:38and you're into like one person being a serial killer

01:43or doing these sort of things,

01:45the idea that couples do this together,

01:48it's mind blowing.

01:49Because listen, we all have, you know,

01:52we could think, oh, well, of course,

01:53your partner would drive you mad and you'd lose,

01:55no, you have to be both equally psychotic

01:59to then want to do this.

02:01Because usually there's one person

02:02the partner would be like,

02:03all right, calm down, honey,

02:04we're not gonna go that far.

02:05But no, there's so many couples

02:08that have gone off the deep end

02:09that they basically bring out the worst in each other.

02:12And that's what I found so fascinating

02:15from a psychology standpoint.

02:16Like, wow, usually one person is sane, but no.

02:19Yeah, or one person gets pulled along

02:22in a very unhealthy relationship.

02:24Sure.

02:25You know, a very codependent relationship

02:28where you have a narcissist

02:29and each person's playing the role.

02:32But these couples get so entrenched

02:36into this relationship

02:37that if one person takes the step

02:39into this sort of dark place,

02:41the other person,

02:42even if they go along reluctantly,

02:44they oftentimes end up becoming part of it

02:47and becoming just as engaged

02:50and there's no turning back, right?

02:52So it's however they get,

02:54we get to a point of two people

02:55crossing into this place

02:57of doing horrible things like this,

03:00to see them both go,

03:02however they get there,

03:03it's kind of shocking and surprising.

03:06And, you know,

03:10in some ways traumatizing.

03:11Like Jenny said earlier,

03:12it's like, it's supposed to be

03:13till death do us part,

03:14not till we go create death.
