00:00House Speaker Martin Romualdez says that the lower house will expedite the approval of a proposed wage hike.

00:06House leaders met with several labor leaders and groups,

00:09including representatives from the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines party list,

00:13Deputy Speaker Raymond Democrito Mendoza.

00:16Their discussion revolved around a measure filed before the Committee on Labor and Employment

00:21for an across-the-board wage increase of 150 pesos to 350 pesos.

00:27The House Speaker says that this consensus is that the wage increase would be around 200 pesos per day.

00:33He assured the public that lawmakers will make sure to take into consideration

00:37the needs of Filipino workers and the state of businesses in the country.

00:41The House Committee on Labor and Employment will continue its discussion on the matter tomorrow.
