Iran should view Donald Trump’s presidency as a chance for sanctions relief, if it abandons its nuclear ambitions, says former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Retired Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt.

00:23Well I think that the Iranians if I was President Trump should see this as an existential opportunity

00:31not a threat.

00:33Look at the end of the day President Trump number one does not want to start new wars

00:38and number two certainly does not want to see a war that would break out as a consequence

00:44of an attack on the Iranian nuclear capabilities.

00:47He's not a warmonger.

00:48He's a dealmaker.

00:50He is looking for a deal with the Iranians that would give them reason to pull back from

00:58developing a nuclear capability and in return get sanctions relief.
