00:16The Department of Transportation or DOTR expects that the study for the target of implementation of the Mapalya Ferry System

00:27will be completed by the first half of 2025 that will dock at the Marikina River, Pasig River, Laguna de Bay, and Manila Bay.

00:35Imagine, Manila Bay is so vast, so what if we put up a regular, scheduled ferry?

00:44Not only to Nabotas, Cavite, up to Batangas, up to Bataan.

00:5332 ferry stations are expected to dock at the Marikina River and the current Pasig Ferry System

01:00as part of the Phase 1 of the project.

01:03It will have 40 electric ferries that can carry 100 to 150 passengers per trip.

01:12Good news for some commuters of the current Pasig Ferry System is this project.

01:18For me, it's better because there will be more passengers and passengers will be helped.

01:25So, it's okay for me to extend it.

01:27DOTR also believes that this is a good alternative for those who want to avoid heavy traffic.

01:35It will be a very viable alternative to the traffic of Metro Manila

01:43because there are a lot of communities that can pass through these rivers and it's very convenient.

01:53With the help of the Phase 5-8 Public Partnership Center,

01:57the full operation of the Mapalya Ferry System will be targeted before the end of 2026.
