00:00Let's reintroduce you to the Dallas Cowboys new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
00:09Now he's had over 20 years of coaching experience in the NFL and has been with Dallas the past
00:15three seasons as both a consultant and an offensive coordinator.
00:19He's had opportunities to be a head coach before, but to all of those, he said he just
00:24wasn't quite ready.
00:25Schottenheimer said, I'm ready now.
00:27I know what I want and I know what it looks like.
00:30Now he wasn't the one who called the offensive plays last season.
00:34That was former head coach Mike McCarthy.
00:36Executive Vice President Stephen Jones says that for Schottenheimer to stay here in Dallas,
00:41he would need to have that responsibility, considering that there were a lot of other
00:44franchises that would have allotted it to him.
00:47Owner and general manager Jerry Jones says that hiring Schottenheimer is as big of a
00:52risk as they can take.
00:54Given that he hasn't had any previous head coaching experience, but Jones says that Schottenheimer
00:59has the support of the players and that for them to win and make the playoffs, this is
01:04their best shot.
