The Swedish authorities seized a ship sailing under the flag of Malta and registered in
00:05
Bulgaria over the suspected sabotage of an underwater cable.
00:11
The Russian defence ministry claimed that its forces captured Velika Novoselka, an operationally
00:16
important town in Ukraine's Donetsk region.
00:21
People around the world commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Holocaust by paying tribute
00:27
to the millions killed by Nazi Germany.
00:35
A Bulgarian ship was seized by authorities after an underwater cable running between
00:39
Latvia and Sweden was damaged, sparking fresh fears of foreign sabotage.
00:45
The cable operator said there was reason to believe that the damage may be due to external
00:49
influence.
00:51
The incident follows similar cases reported in the past two months within the Baltic region.
00:57
Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said both the EU and NATO are intensifying
01:02
cooperation to combat the danger.
01:05
The seized vessel reportedly left the Russian port of Ust-Laga only two days before the
01:29
incident.
01:36
The Russian defence ministry claimed that its forces captured Velika Novoselka, an operationally
01:41
important town in Ukraine's Donetsk region.
01:45
If confirmed, its capture would mean a significant gain for Russian forces in the Donbas.
01:52
The Ukrainian army, however, says it withdrew from some parts of the village to avoid encirclement
01:57
but still holds other parts.
02:00
With Ukraine in an increasingly difficult situation on the front lines, EU foreign ministers
02:05
agreed on Monday to extend again the sanctions on Russia.
02:09
The EU is extending its existing sanctions against Russia after Hungary withdrew its
02:34
threat to block the rollover.
02:39
Thousands of Palestinians have finally begun their return to the destroyed north of the
02:43
Gaza Strip after being forced out from their homes in the first weeks of the war.
02:49
Many of the Gaza habitants feared they would never be able to return to what is left of
02:54
their homes in the north, especially after Donald Trump proposed to clean out Gaza and
02:59
send Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan.
03:09
The human caravan, which is moving parallel to the Mediterranean and has been welcomed
03:25
by Hamas, was blocked over the weekend at the Nusrat camp after Israel accused Hamas
03:31
of breaking the fragile ceasefire.
03:51
Over a million Palestinians left northern Gaza in October 2023.
03:57
Hundreds of thousands of Gazans refused to move south and remained in the area, which
04:02
suffered the worst attacks and destruction of the conflict.
04:11
Three more Israeli hostages are set to be released by Hamas before Friday, easing the
04:16
first major crisis of the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
04:22
Qatari mediators announced early on Monday that Arbil Yehud would be among the next release
04:26
of hostages. Israel had said that Yehud was supposed to have been released ahead of the
04:31
four soldiers that were released on Saturday. It also accused Hamas of failing to provide
04:37
details on the conditions of hostages set to be freed in the coming weeks.
04:43
As a result, Israeli authorities did not allow Palestinians to return to northern Gaza as
04:48
was agreed in the ceasefire deal.
04:51
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the hostage release will take
04:55
place on Thursday, and confirmed that Palestinians can move north on Monday.
05:00
Israel's military said people could start crossing on foot at 7 a.m. local time.
05:09
People around the world are paying tribute to the victims of the Holocaust on its 80th
05:14
anniversary. Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof, along with hundreds of people,
05:20
attended a Holocaust commemoration in Amsterdam on Sunday, held at the Auschwitz Memorial
05:26
in Weltenpark.
05:28
Jacques Grishever from the Dutch Auschwitz Committee reflects on the enduring pain of
05:33
the Holocaust.
05:35
The pain has not disappeared, but it has always given me the strength to fight for a world
05:40
in which Auschwitz is not only a promise, but also a reality.
05:47
Auschwitz is more than a commemoration. It is a mission.
05:54
Whilst Auschwitz survivor Barbara Donecka, who was 10 years old at the time, carries
05:59
the memory of those who perished in the camps, especially her four-year-old friend Helena.
06:04
Shaken by Helena's death, she returns to the camp to pay tribute.
06:09
I wonder how I could have survived the hunger, the cold, the fear of life, above all.
06:16
Oh, how I cried.
06:20
Nazi Germany claimed over 6 million Jewish lives, but also millions of others, including
06:26
Poles, Roma and Sinti, Soviet prisoners of war, gay people and others targeted for elimination
06:32
in Adolf Hitler's racial ideology.
06:39
The European Union has threatened new sanctions on Belarus after President Alexander Lukashenko
06:45
looked certain to score his seventh consecutive election win since 1994.
06:50
Foreign Policy Chief Kaya Kalas released a joint statement with Enlargement Commissioner
06:55
Marta Kos, slamming the sham election.
06:57
The relentless and unprecedented repression of human rights have deprived the electoral
07:02
process of any legitimacy, the statement said.
07:05
They didn't give any more details about what the eventual new sanctions package would target
07:10
or when it would be implemented.
07:12
Final votes are still being counted and the result is expected to be announced later on
07:17
Monday, but state television said on Sunday that Lukashenko was on course to take almost
07:22
88% of the vote.
07:24
His 2020 election win was also dismissed as a sham by the West and the result sparked
07:29
weeks of widespread protests across the country.
07:33
That prompted a brutal crackdown by security forces and led to 65,000 arrests.
07:38
Belarus is holding an estimated 1,200 political prisoners.
07:43
Since July, Lukashenko has released around 250 that rights activists say were jailed
07:49
for political reasons.
08:03
But it's unlikely that the condemnation from Western leaders or the threatened EU sanctions
08:15
will make much of a difference to Lukashenko.
08:18
I don't give a damn about the West, he told the press in Minsk.
08:23
The priceless manuscript of Chopin's Ballade in F minor has now come into Polish hands.
08:29
This previously unpublished autograph was acquired from private owners through confidential
08:35
and lengthy negotiations.
08:52
The manuscript of the Ballade in F minor will be featured in the upcoming exhibition Romantic
09:02
Life, colon, Chopin, Schaeffer de la Croix, sans.
09:11
The manuscript of the Ballade in F minor will be featured in the upcoming exhibition Romantic
09:19
Life. The exhibition Romantic Life will be created primarily in cooperation with the
09:25
Paris Museum of Romantic Life, which was able to convince us to rent over 70 objects,
09:31
which will make it the first, as far as I know, such a serious exhibition of French
09:37
art in the context of Chopin and in the musical context organized in Poland.
09:41
The event will coincide with the International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
09:46
The manuscript of the Ballade in F minor is the best-studied manuscript of Fryderyk Chopin.
09:51
It can be seen at Fryderyk Chopin Museum at Okulnik 1.

10:17
So this exhibition explores a period of real flourishing of the arts in Brazil,
10:23
running from roughly the 1910s to the 1970s.
10:27
It was a period when artists, writers, thinkers were all wanting to really shape the direction
10:33
of their young, ambitious country.
10:35
And so in this exhibition, we've taken 10 of the artists who were part of this movement
10:40
that's now known as Brazilian modernism, and we've dedicated a space to each of these artists
10:45
so that our visitors can come and really explore in depth each artist's individual approach towards modernism.
11:05
We have artists of Afro-Brazilian descent and indigenous descent,
11:09
and so the artists themselves reflect the diversity of Brazil,
11:12
but they also were reflecting that diversity in their art.
11:15
There was, for a lot of these artists, being able to capture what made Brazil unique
11:20
was the key thing that drove them.
