05:41A bus carrying dozens of detainees exited the gates of Israel's Ofer prison in the early

05:48According to a list provided by the Palestinian Authority's Commission for Prisoner's Affairs,

05:53all of those released are women or minors.

05:56Israel detained them for what it said were offenses related to national security, from

06:00throwing stones to more serious accusations like attempted murder.

06:05Their release comes more than seven hours after three Israeli hostages were released

06:09by Hamas and returned to Israel.

06:12The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect after a short delay on Sunday morning.

06:17Phase one will see Hamas release 33 hostages over six weeks in return for hundreds of Palestinians,

06:24being held in Israeli prisons.

06:26Phase two of the deal covers steps towards a permanent end to the fighting.

06:30It would see Hamas release the remaining hostages and the Israeli military fully withdraw from

06:37The third and final phase covers Gaza's reconstruction, with Hamas expected to hand over the bodies

06:42of hostages in return for a plan for rebuilding the Strip.

06:52Some Palestinians in Gaza expressed relief on Monday after sleeping for the first time

07:00Many were seen returning from Khan Younis to Rafah, only to find massive destruction.

07:22The return of the families comes amid looming uncertainty about whether the ceasefire deal
