Israelis who gathered in Tel Aviv's "Hostages Square" were filled with emotions as they watched four female soldiers being released from Hamas captivity in Gaza on Jan 25.
They said they are now torn between the joy of seeing the return of the four women and the pain of knowing 90 of them remain in captivity.
Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy and Liri Albag were stationed at an observation post on the edge of Gaza and abducted by Hamas gunmen who overran their base during the attack on Israel on Oct 7, 2023.

00:00We were so nervous, are we going to see them, when are we going to see them, for 477 days
00:23And today the moment came, and the four of them, Daniela, Karina, Naama, Liri, they are back home
00:31This is what we were waiting for, and now we will wait for the release of 90 more hostages
00:37who must get this chance as well, come back to their lives
00:41We are obviously extremely excited and very very happy for the release of the four soldiers, ladies
00:50Very brave ladies, happy to see that they are standing on their legs and they are seemingly fine
01:00I'm sure that they have a long way yet to recover, but it looks good for the moment
01:15So yesterday was a big day for everybody
01:17Everybody was very happy to see the girls return home to their families
01:25But everybody is worried because we know the whole process is not stable
01:29I hope our leaders are smart enough to navigate the situation in a way that
01:34will bring everybody home as soon as possible
01:37Yesterday was extremely emotional, I think we've been waiting for these girls for
01:44one year and four months
01:47We've been left with such horrific imprints of them, of how they were taken
01:53That we just wanted to know that they were okay and that they're home
01:56So it was so emotional seeing them
01:59But it's also very conflicting because there are another 90 hostages still at Gaza
02:06And there's the Bebas family, which for some reason is not being fought for in the same way
02:12And I'm not quite sure why and I keep on questioning, like what about the Bebas family?
02:17And so there's a lot of joy, but there's a lot of pain at the same time
02:23It's a very difficult period to be in, it's not an easy place to be in
