00:00The damage assessment in Southern Leyte continued following a 5.9 magnitude earthquake.

00:05The temporary closure was also delayed while the clearing operation in areas affected by the landslide continued.

00:18The damage assessment was continued after a 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit the province of Southern Leyte

00:28earlier this morning at 7.59 a.m.

00:31The Department of Public Works and Highways ordered the temporary closure of the left side of the Liliwan Bridge.

00:38Heavy equipment was also sent to the Southern Leyte 2nd Engineering District

00:42to remove the large rocks and debris from the roads and landslides.

00:49According to the Office of Civil Defense, no one was injured but some students in the town of San Francisco

00:55were sent to the local health center due to the panic attack.

00:59The local government of San Francisco ordered a forced evacuation to the barangays

01:05that may be affected by the landslide due to the ongoing aftershocks.

01:10According to San Francisco Mayor Benedicta Chauzon,

01:14the barangay residents were not allowed to return to their homes due to the danger of the landslide.

01:21The Department of Social Welfare and Development of Eastern Visayas also provided assistance to the victims of the landslide.

01:27According to Regional Director Grace Subong,

01:29118,576 family food bags and 34,502 non-food relief items are on standby in various strategic locations in the region,

01:39including Southern Leyte.
