00:00The Philippines has agreed to negotiate with the International Criminal Court, or ICC,
00:06in the midst of its ongoing investigation into the war on drugs of the Duterte administration,
00:11according to Justice Secretary Crispin Remulia.
00:14In an interview with a news agency, Reuters,
00:17Remulia said that the dialogue will be conducted as soon as possible,
00:21in a proper manner, and for the sake of unity.
00:26The law does not prohibit the cooperation of an international tribunal,
00:32but there are areas where the Philippines and the ICC can cooperate.
00:37When asked about the possibility of the country reuniting with the ICC,
00:41Remulia said that this is a different issue.
00:44As of now, talks are already underway on the limitation of being a non-member of the ICC.
00:51The ICC can also help speed up the investigation into the war on drugs of the Philippines.
