Si Teacher Leny Furuginto, ang unang Mangyan sa kanilang lugar na nakapagtapos ng kolehiyo, ay bumalik para maglingkod bilang volunteer teacher sa Sitio Banluan.  Upang makapagtapos sa pag-aaral, namasukan siya bilang kasambahay sa isang pamilyang Tagalog kapalit ng libreng tirahan at edukasyon. 04:07I went to a place we know in Tagalog.

04:24So that I could finish my studies.

04:27Because my parents couldn't afford it.

04:32The Mangyans call on the system where the Mangyans live in the houses of Tagalogs.

04:41The children work like housemaids.

04:46But instead of salary, they only get free housing and education.

04:53How long have you been working?

04:56Since I was in grade 1 until I graduated.

05:00I was 8 years old.

05:02In exchange, I was able to buy food and pay for my school fees.

05:10No. They only visit us sometimes during Christmas.

05:52Nothing. Sometimes, I don't care. Sometimes, I just cry.

05:56Others used Teacher Lenny as a weapon to succeed.

06:26After many years, Teacher Lenny finished her BS Education course.

06:34And like her promise, she returned to the mountains to serve.

06:59I replied,
