Giant pandas debut at Adelaide Zoo

00:14in the welcoming ceremony to formally welcome the new pair of pandas, Jinqiu and Yilan.

00:22Several decades ago, there was a time when the giant panda was the least endangered species.

00:28The total number of giant pandas in China, or perhaps all the world, was less than several

00:33hundred.

00:34With efforts from the joint collaboration between China and friendly countries, including

00:40Australia, we have made things change.

00:43The situation has changed and changed much, much for the better.

00:47According to my experts from China, now the total number of giant pandas has grown from

00:54less than several hundred to over 2,000.
