Trump's first day in office: What executive orders has he signed?

00:00From pardoning January 6th rioters to talking about buying Greenland,

00:04what has Trump done on his first day in office?

00:07In one of the first orders of the day,

00:09President Trump has decided to withdraw the U.S.

00:12from the World Health Organization.

00:14He says the Global Health Agency had mishandled the COVID pandemic

00:18and other international health crises.

00:20So we paid $500 million to World Health when I was here,

00:24and I terminated it.

00:26China with 1.4 billion people.

00:30They were paying $39 million.

00:31We were paying $500 million.

00:34It seemed a little unfair to me.

00:36So that wasn't the reason, but I dropped out.

00:38Next, Trump issued criminal pardons for around 1,500 people

00:42who stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021.

00:46This includes members of far-right groups,

00:48including the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers.

00:51So this is January 6th.

00:54These are the hostages.

00:56Approximately 1,500 for a pardon.

01:01Trump has once again withdrawn America from the Paris climate deal,

01:05meaning the U.S. will essentially no longer help

01:07in the global battle against climate change.

01:10While signing his other executive orders,

01:12the new president said the U.S. needs to control Greenland

01:15to ensure international security.

01:17Greenland's prime minister, however,

01:19has repeatedly said the island is not for sale.

01:22Another of the president's first moves

01:24was to declare a national emergency on the U.S. border with Mexico.

01:28So this is a proclamation declaring a national emergency

01:31at the southern border of the United States?

01:34That's a big one.

01:35A lot of big ones, huh?

01:36Trump also signed an order to delay the ban on TikTok for 75 days

01:40after it was temporarily shut on January 19th.

01:43I guess I have a warm spot for TikTok that I didn't have originally.

01:46It's not entirely clear what will happen once those 75 days are up.

01:50Trump vowed these decisions will help bring a golden age

01:54and revolution of common sense for America.
