00:00Hello everybody, my name is Darren and for those of you who do know me, I consider myself
00:10a pretty strong swimmer. However, I went for a swim in BC just on this beautiful beach
00:24called Wilderness Bay in South Africa, the eastern cape of South Africa. The reason I'm
00:33doing this video is because I got into awful trouble this morning. I drifted and then drifted
00:39again and I tried to swim hard to get in and I was tiring pretty fast, I was probably in
00:43the water for about 45 minutes. Thankfully Linda, my wife, saw me, she was on the beach
00:50and she saw I was in difficulty and there were some lifeguards. Long story short, my life was
00:56saved this morning by a wonderful young lady called Hannah. I'm going to share this video
01:02to her Instagram account. I'm a little bit shaken still, but the courage and heroics of Hannah,
01:12there were three lifeguards there. Linda told them I was in difficulty and without question,
01:20Hannah went straight into the water and swam hard. I put her own life at risk because I feel really
01:25stupid, really crazy stupid. Apparently it happens a lot, which is not at all surprising, but I just
01:33want to say a huge thank you to Hannah for showing her courage to come and get me. It took us both a
01:39good 20 minutes I guess to get back in, both paddling and swimming hard, but her heroics
01:47and professionalism, I'll be grateful for the rest of my life. Linda's quite shaken, but anyway,
01:55thank you Hannah. Please share this video widely to everybody, your parents, your friends, your
02:01boyfriend, girlfriend, anybody you want to share this story widely. I'm super appreciative of your
02:07work today. Thank you so much.
