Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived for a two-day working visit to Belgium, as well as meeting leaders of the European Union (EU) on Sunday (Jan 19).

00:00Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived for a two-day working visit

00:11The aircraft carrying the Prime Minister landed at the Brussels airport from London, where
00:16the Premier had just concluded his working visit to the United Kingdom.
00:21On hand to welcome Anwar at the airport were Malaysian Ambassador to Belgium Luxembourg
00:26and the European Union, Datuk Mohamed Khalid Abassi Abdul Razak and Belgium's Deputy
00:32Chief of Protocol Alan Schmitz.
00:34Mohamed Khalid Abassi said a positive development on the decision to restart negotiations on
00:40the stalled Malaysia-European Union free trade agreement is expected during the Premier's
00:45visit.
00:46On Monday, Anwar is scheduled to meet the caretaker Prime Minister of Belgium, Alexander
00:53to discuss the Malaysia-Belgium bilateral relations and intensify cooperative endeavours,
00:59as well as to exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
