00:00Welcome to Tech Takedown.
00:03This week's episode I'm pitting the Google Pixel Buds Pro versus the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.
00:09All right, Ryan, you've got one minute.
00:11Talk about what you like about it and start now.
00:15Well I think the biggest factor for buying these is the AI features and the interpreter
00:20mode and the hands-free controls as well.
00:23This thing has some pretty awesome specs under it.
00:27You do have to have a Samsung Galaxy phone, but I think there's some great qualities with
00:33the AI and stuff.
00:34Like for me, I'm learning Japanese right now.
00:36It helps that having the interpreter, I can just talk to the earbuds and understand what
00:42I'm talking about in Japanese and ensure that I'm actually speaking correctly, right?
00:47Now interpretation isn't going to be the best, but it still does the trick.
00:52Even when it comes to controls, I can actually just say, hey, stop music out loud.
00:57Say I'm washing my hands or doing something with my hands, maybe even playing a game.
01:02I can say stop music or play music to continue playing stuff.
01:07So I don't even have to open my phone or even touch the earbuds at all, which is quite nice.
01:13We talk about AI features and talk about interpreter mode, but everyone has Google Translate on
01:19their phones.
01:21Android doesn't matter, so I can always use that to do my translations in person.
01:26One person speaks, the other person waits, and it also will translate in real time.
01:30So I don't really need a pair of head buds to do that.
01:33I can just do it on my phone if I want to.
01:34I do like the feature where you can do it hands-free, but again, since the Pixel Buds
01:39Pro work with any Android phone, you can basically use Google Assistant to do pretty much the
01:45same thing.
01:46All right, so now it's my turn, Ryan.
01:47I'm going to talk to you about why I like the Google Pixel Buds Pro, the first being
01:51the design.
01:52I just like it because, for starters, it's more discreet.
01:55You put it in your ear, sometimes you can't see it, nothing's hanging off your ear, doesn't
01:59look like a Q-tip, just like the AirPods I talked about last time.
02:02So that's the reason why I like wearing it.
02:04It doesn't stand out as much, so it's very discreet in that way.
02:08Secondly, I do also like that there are more color options with this.
02:12You have only black and white.
02:14They're boring color options, but with the Pixel Buds Pro, you have a slew of options.
02:18I believe more than six.
02:20I got the blue ones, and they stand out, especially when you wear them.
02:23It's comfortable to wear, too.
02:24The case is also really compact.
02:26I like the snapping motions.
02:27But yeah, when I wear them, they're snug, come in different sizes, and the thing about
02:32most earbuds is that they look obnoxious.
02:35You know, you have those stems coming out, but with this, it's kind of flush to your
02:39ear, so it doesn't look as obnoxious.
02:41And for that, I think it's better.
02:43Who cares about colors?
02:44I prefer just having simple white or silver.
02:48That's all I need.
02:49That's all.
02:50And I'll have you know, black, no.
02:51This comes in silver.
02:52Thank you very much.
02:53And that's probably even better than the white, honestly.
02:55Super sleek.
02:56And honestly, look at this case compared to this.
03:00About the same size, but I kind of like the way this feels in my hand as opposed to this.
03:03And fits in my pocket.
03:04It's much easier to just slide in my pocket, and honestly, look at this, look at how easy
03:08these come out.
03:09Boom.
03:10Simple.
03:11You can't beat these.
03:13That's fair enough.
03:14What do you guys think?
03:15Let us know in the comments below, especially which one you think is better.
03:18Don't forget to check out our buy and skip for the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.
03:24Now it's my turn.
03:25So the reason why I also like about the Pixel Buds Pro is that they have incredible value.
03:30I'm not paying an arm and a leg to get a pair of earbuds.
03:34And on top of this, there's a lot of value because it has noise cancellation.
03:37If I'm in the subway, want to cancel out the noise, just listen to music, it has that
03:42feature.
03:43Also, you have the noise amplification, so if you want to hear your surroundings, still
03:48be able to talk to someone while listening to music, you have that option as well.
03:53And lastly, it's just the price.
03:55Like I said, it's cheaper than the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.
03:59You're looking at on average $200, but on sale right now, you could probably get for
04:03as low as $140.
04:06And the difference between this and that, I could probably buy something else, maybe
04:09a case for my phone or, you know, some other gadget.
04:13So there's a lot of value in this, tons of features packed into it as well, so you're
04:18getting the most bang for the buck.
04:19Yeah, I don't, you know, price is one thing, but, you know, I'm willing to pay extra, what
04:24is it, $50 more for more features and simply put, just better overall design and everything.
04:31I mean, you could get away with going for the Pixel Buds and, you know, if you are on
04:36the budget side, that's fine, but I'd rather have the full gamut.
04:40I'd rather have everything and AI stuff, adaptive EQ, you can't really go wrong with that, $250,
04:46I mean, come on.
04:48So you like paying for stuff that you're not going to use?
04:51Yes.
04:52For my final point, I was going to go with design, but since you already picked it, you
04:56know, I'm going to have to go with something a little different.
04:58And I think I'm going to go with IP57 rating and the active noise cancellation on these
05:04are superior.
05:05Now, IP57 rating, those are only IPX4, which means they're really not that capable of keeping
05:11out water and stuff now to a certain degree, whereas this, the Buds are rated against dust,
05:18solids, which is nice, water, sweat.
05:21I mean, you got everything there, plus ANC, you know, active noise cancellation on this
05:26is stellar.
05:27When I put them on, it was like I was in another world, it's like I was in a pocket dimension,
05:31it was amazing.
05:33And you don't really get that on those, especially given the fact that those are now two years
05:36old.
05:37Not really good, you know, not really good.
05:39Due to its IP57 rating, you can go to the gym and you can jump in the pool with these.
05:44I mean, you got coverage and, which is nice, I mean, you don't have to worry about getting
05:49sweat all over it when you're in the gym or on a run, plus these even have a windscreen.
05:55First of all, who is swimming with their earbuds on?
05:57I know I'm not, maybe in the shower I'll use them, but there are very rare instances where
06:03I need to listen to music while I'm in the pool.
06:06Not really.
06:07So, that's great.
06:08It has better water resistance and dust resistance, but for the most part, everyday use for me,
06:12it's more than adequate.
06:13And you talk about noise cancellation, yes, I'll give it to you, but I don't need to be
06:17in that other dimension.
06:18I live here, in the real world, so it has more than what I need for getting the job
06:24done.
06:25Let me know what you guys think in the comments section below and let us know which of these
06:28two buds you're going to pick up this week.
