00:16But recently, when the government has imposed a complete ban on green felling,

00:28The contractor is not able to transport the available wood because he is not getting a permit

00:38There was a shortage of wood here, so we had to approach the Forest Corporation

00:44and the Forest Corporation has provided us with the wood.

00:47But the wood that has come from the Forest Corporation,

00:50we have to transport it ourselves to the depot where they have given us space.

00:54The cost is different.

00:55Plus, the contractor used to provide us with the wood at Rs. 540 per quintal.

01:00But the wood from the Forest Corporation is available at Rs. 1130 per quintal.

01:06Obviously, the burden on the MC will be financial and the general public will have to bear the cost

01:14because when we are procuring the wood at a certain rate,

01:17we will have to charge the people accordingly.

01:22Does this mean that the rate will double?

01:26Yes, obviously, the rate will increase accordingly.

01:29Because even the MC will not be able to give less than the wood that is being procured.

01:38When we used to add manpower and other additional costs,

01:45there will be no change in that.

01:47So, obviously, the cost of wood will have to be paid more.

01:52Is this a matter of high demand?

01:57Yes, I had brought this matter to the attention of the secretary and the DC sir as well.

02:02But the reference will be sent to the government today.
