00:19and how this special perfectly captures

00:22this moment in your life.

00:23The process for me,

00:24for making my latest standup special, Human Magic,

00:28was the most fun I've ever had doing standup.

00:31I was able to create my tour

00:37organized around my family.

00:39You know, standup typically happens on the weekends

00:41and that's the time that I reconnect with my family.

00:44So my husband and I were talking about it

00:46and I was like, you don't understand.

00:48It has to be Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

00:50He was like, what if it's Thursdays and Fridays?

00:53And I was like, you're a genius.

00:54You're a genius.

00:56That's how I planned the tour.

00:57I performed in 48 cities, 52 shows,

01:01and took my time doing it.

01:03And it made the standup,

01:05I think the funniest standup I've ever done.

01:07And I had the most fun I ever had.

01:10I really wanted to be there every single show that I did.

01:15Your daughter is three now

01:16and you joke about how opinionated she is.

01:19What are her current most stubborn opinions?

01:21She's still telling me to take my hair down

01:23because her hair's curly

01:24and she likes when our hair matches.

01:26And she literally says to me, Mako,

01:28I take, it'll be up.

01:29She says, take it down, take it down.

01:30And then she goes, zhuzh it.

01:33I'm like, you're telling me to zhuzh my hair?

01:36Like I've been zhuzhing my hair

01:38since before you were born, dude.

01:40She's making jokes.

01:42She's dancing.

01:44She's very creative.

01:45Her spirit is very alive.

01:47Since it's still early in the new year,

01:49are you a resolution person?

01:50Mantras, manifestations?

01:52What does 2025 hold for Alana Glazer?

01:54And how are you gonna get it?

01:56Creating more.

01:58I'm a really generative person.

02:01I'm productive, but I want to be writing more,

02:04speaking more.

02:06I wanna be surfing.

02:07I wanna be surfing through this year

02:09and not looking to the side,

02:12not paying attention to nonsense

02:14or people who are specifically trying to bring me down,

02:17you down, all of us down.

02:19They can do that.

02:20And if I'm not looking at them

02:22and I'm just focusing on the wave that I'm riding,

02:26go do your nonsense.

02:28I don't care.

02:29And then they kind of blow themselves up.

02:31I really, I'm very politically active

02:35and politically minded,

02:36but right now I'm focusing on the personal,

02:40on my personal, pleasurable experience.

02:44And yeah, that focus I think will let us see each other

02:48who's doing that and connect

02:50and then leave the nonsense to the margins.

03:29cause I'm so codependent with so many people
