Lebanon’s new President Joseph Aoun will face a number of challenges, the major one not compromising with any political faction, Lebanese member of parliament Sami Fatfat says.   #Lebanon

00:00Speaking of clashes, President Aoun now faces a few daunting tasks, from overseeing a ceasefire

00:06between Hezbollah and Israel, to save the country from its worst economic crisis.

00:12What do you think will be his biggest challenge?

00:15Let's start by saying that President Aoun has set the bar very high, to be honest.

00:20And I'm very good with that.

00:24But so much that there's some Lebanese are saying that if he delivers like 30 percent

00:28of his speech, they will be very grateful.

00:31However, he will face significant obstacles, particularly from parties benefiting from

00:39the current state of lawlessness.

00:41The biggest challenge will be standing firm and refusing not to make compromises with

00:46any political factions.

00:49One of the most powerful statements he made was no one is above the law and no one is

00:55protected.

00:57This single sentence lays the foundation for building a state, and it marks the first step

01:03towards an independent judiciary.
