UK Weather outlook: Mist and fog persist as it’s set to turn colder over the weekend

Low cloud and pockets of mist and fog will persist across the south-east today whilst elsewhere will be dry and sunny. There will be more cloud over the next few days as it turns chillier.

00:00Lingering low cloud and pockets of mist and fog will persist on Thursday afternoon across

00:04southeast England. Meanwhile elsewhere will be bright with plenty of winter sunshine.

00:10On Thursday evening and night, patches of mist and fog will soon reform across large parts of

00:14England and Wales and there's also a chance of some frost developing in rural areas.

00:19Rain and gales will spread across northwest Scotland and may be locally heavy.

00:24On Friday, early patches of mist and fog may be slow to clear but then it will be a mainly dry

00:28and cloudy day, although some sunny spouts will develop later and the best of these will be in

00:33the east. Rain will clear from northern Scotland and winds will ease. On Saturday it will be mainly

00:40dry but cloudy, however a weak weather front will bring patchy outbreaks of rain to western

00:45regions on Sunday accompanied by some cooler temperatures.
