00:00The journey from Valenzuela to Naia will not last more than an hour.
00:06The Metro Manila Subway Project will be completed in less than an hour.
00:10The machine that will run the subway is already installed in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
00:17Marisol Abduraman is on the scene.
00:24Camp Aguinaldo is now being used by a tunnel boring machine for the Metro Manila Subway.
00:29This is the gigantic equipment.
00:31Next to drilling in the ground, the cement will automatically be poured in the tunnel
00:36so that the water will flow.
00:40This is just how it is now.
00:42But when it is poured, it will be like the people of the past,
00:45like in Valenzuela and the Quirino Highway.
00:49The project can even pass through trains.
00:52The total cost of the project is more than 21 billion pesos.
00:56To substantially solve a traffic problem,
00:59it is the fastest, most efficient, safest, and affordable,
01:06environment-friendly way of transporting as many people as possible in the shortest possible time.
01:15Once completed, the journey from Valenzuela to Naia will only take 45 minutes.
01:21It's around almost 20%.
01:25So, we're targeting partial operations by the end of 2029.
01:33This project has long been overdue.
01:37Tunnel boring machines will be added to simultaneously drill.
01:41A total of 11 machines are expected to operate in the coming years.
