Amritsar: Protests continue in Punjab against Kangana Ranaut's film Emergency, which is going to be released across the country on January 17. A delegation of SGPC reached the Amritsar DC office today and submitted a memorandum to the DC. It is worth mentioning that earlier, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has also written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to ban this film so that anti-Sikh film is not released in Punjab and it does not have any impact on the atmosphere of Punjab.    'Punjab government has not taken concrete steps'   Giving information in this regard, SGPC Secretary Partap Singh while talking to reporters said that 'Emergency film will not be allowed to run in Punjab, because it has been made in a policy manner with the aim of defaming Sikhs. Through this resolution, a demand was made from the state government to ban the release of this film across Punjab, but it is a matter of regret that the AAP-led Punjab government has not taken any step so far. If this film is released on 17 January 2025, then it is natural that this will create resentment in the Sikh world.  What is the controversy over the emergency?  It is worth mentioning that there is a continuous controversy over Bollywood actress Kangana's film. In this film, Kangana Ranaut is playing the role of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the film was earlier scheduled to release on September 6, 2024, but its release was postponed after opposition from Sikh organizations. It is worth mentioning that the trailer of the film was released on August 14, which showed a negative attitude towards Sikhs. In addition to showing the death scenes of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Dal Khalsa chief Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was also shown in a negative manner, which upset Sikh organizations. There were protests against this film in Punjab and there was a demand to ban it. After this, some scenes objected to by the Censor Board were removed from the film, after which the film is now being released on January 17.
