N Korean soldiers faring badly in Russia

North Korean soldiers deployed alongside Russian troops in the Russia-Ukraine war are suffering heavy casualties, London Evening Standard Defense Correspondent Robert Fox says.   #Ukraine #Russia

00:00Ukraine says that somewhere in the region of 10 or 11,000 North Korean fighters are on the ground there in Ukraine and on the border with Russia.

00:10How much of a game changer did these soldiers actually represent on the battlefield?

00:15Not much as far as can be told at the moment and of course it is, quite a lot of it is anecdotal.

00:20A lot of the information is coming from Kiev itself but of course we do have aerial pictures,

00:27we do have video verification and there's no doubt that they have been used in open fighting,

00:34infantry fighting across open ground where they've been faring very badly.

00:38They have been killed and injured in quite large numbers.

00:42Some of the casualty calculations are really quite high.

00:45If you have a total potential force of 11,000 about 3,000 plus have been killed and injured so far.
