00:00I am the officer-in-charge of this cycling expedition.

00:03We have a total of 12 cadets, 6 girls cadets and 6 boys,

00:07and a total of 15 cyclists, including me.

00:10I am the officer-in-charge of this cycling expedition,

00:13Colonel Somvir Dabas.

00:14I am heading this expedition.

00:16We started from Hussainwala on 7th of Jan,

00:19and now through Punjab, Haryana.

00:22We started on 7th January.

00:24Our ADG sir, who resides in Chandigarh,

00:27he flagged it off there.

00:30And there, we have a very sacred place,

00:34for which our Bhagat Singh, Gurudev,

00:39and Sukhdev have made a mark.

00:43We started from there.

00:45That is the most sacred place.

00:47Because before independence, our martyrs,

00:49because of whom we got freedom from the British,

00:52and after independence, our Pramveer Chakras,

00:55all of them, as a cycle rally,

00:58through our cadets, we are remembering,

01:00saluting, and paying our respects,

01:03that we want such great warriors,

01:06our future generation, present generation,

01:09everyone should remember,

01:10that the freedom that we have got,

01:12how our brothers have martyred for it.

01:16We started our training,

01:20we selected them first.

01:22Our Haryana, Punjab, Himachal, and Chandigarh,

01:26we called the kids from all of them.

01:28Around 60 kids came.

01:30We selected 12 kids from them.

01:31After that, they were given training in NCC Academy Ropar,

01:34for 10 days.

01:36And after that, a team was formed,

01:38so that we could easily cover this 700 km journey.

01:42Because today, you can see, it is so foggy,

01:44sometimes it rains.

01:47The climate is extreme, in the entire North India.

01:50Life is very tough,

01:52and our cadets, if they can do it,

01:54then our youth can do it.

01:56But this should become a source of inspiration for everyone.

01:59Our NCC cadets, who are 14 lakh,

02:02through them, through their medium,

02:04we, the entire NCC,

02:06want our youth, who are in schools and colleges,

02:09to understand,

02:10and join our defence forces.

02:13And for the safety of our country,

02:15only when they are young,

02:16can we be safe.
