00:00A lot of people were saying going in to Texas, Ohio state that this was the de facto national
00:21championship.
00:22Think like 1990s NFC championship games.
00:26Carter, I want to know just to start with, and then I want to talk more about the game
00:29itself.
00:30Is that the way you felt going in or are you looking at Notre Dame, Ohio state being
00:35like, no, no, I think these are the teams.
00:38Can it be both?
00:39Because I did think the Texas and Ohio state were the two best teams left in the playoff
00:43at that point.
00:44But I am continually impressed by Notre Dame and what they've done, the way they physically
00:49just shut Georgia down.
00:51I know Georgia was down there starting quarterback, but the way they physically matched up with
00:56Georgia that entire game, and then to fall down to Penn state by double digits and claw
01:02your way back and win with your defense at the end of that game.
01:06You can say Penn state's play calling might've been problematic at the end of the orange
01:10bowl.
01:11I thought Notre Dame's was too.
01:12They were both throwing the ball way too much at the end of that game for my liking, but
01:16Notre Dame was the one that made the play at the end.
01:18And I am, like I said, I've just been continually impressed with what they've done, how they've
01:23beaten the teams they've beaten, and they're an eight and a half point underdog.
01:28Last I saw, I think that's appropriate, but I might pick them to cover.
01:33I actually think this is going to be a closer game than people realize, especially when
01:36you look at the cotton bowl where Ohio state's offense was shut down for a lot of that game
01:42by a very good Texas secondary and what does Notre Dame have?
01:45A very good secondary.
