00:00She was adorable. She was smiling all the time. And she always used to, when she used
00:11to see me, she used to smile and grab my beard with her little hands. She's been adorable
00:20and she was so, so loving.
00:25The words of 27-year-old Alex Kellerman, a father overcome by unimaginable grief. It
00:32was meant to be a festive family holiday in Wales for Alex, his wife Betty and their two
00:37children. They never anticipated that six-month-old Sophia would sustain fatal injuries after
00:43a crash in the town.
00:45Thirty-three-year-old Flavw Nagy from Wigan has since been charged with causing death
00:49by dangerous driving, as well as driving without a licence or insurance.
00:54That day is supposed to be our last day. We went in the morning to get breakfast and
01:00to visit the town centre. We had some pictures taken and then we decided to leave because
01:11my wife was packing the suitcases, our things, to get back home to Lee. And just before we
01:20got to the car, the horror movie started.
01:25Sophia died the following day. Now the couple are navigating their grief and are trying
01:30to help their five-year-old son Lucas understand that he will never see his sister again.
01:35He's been asking about his little sister every day since it happened. He knows that something
01:41is wrong because he's seen her so upset. The biggest pain I've had, it was me explaining
01:47him that God loved his sister more than we did and God gave Sophia a brand new set of
01:58wings so she could fly over him and protect him.
02:04Alex and Betty hope that with time, they can lay their beloved Sophia to rest in their
02:09homeland of Romania.
