A magnitude 6.9 earthquake strikes the island of Kyushu, Japan

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Japan, triggering a tsunami warning. Two small tsunamis, about 20 centimeters in height, were detected at two ports in the Kyushu region, but they caused no damage.
