00:02We're on the threshold of an enormous technological advance.
00:06And the action plan on AI published by the government today aims to do two things.
00:12The first is to make the UK a welcome home for the billions of pounds of investment
00:16that are going into this technology.
00:18It's either going to come to the UK or it's going to go somewhere else.
00:21And we want it to be the UK.
00:23But the second is to make sure that we are applying the technology
00:27throughout the public and private sectors
00:29so that we can deal with one of the long-standing problems
00:32faced by the British economy, and that's productivity.
00:35So there's some really exciting advances in health, education and other fields
00:40that can be better value for the taxpayer and make these services more productive.
