00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has once again pledged allegiance to the International Law
00:07for the use of modern security.
00:11This was proposed by the President during the New Year's Vandenure
00:16in Malacanang this Saturday, which was attended by diplomatic corps.
00:21President Marcos Jr. urged that the foreign policy of the Philippines
00:27that promotes peace while adhering to the International Law
00:33that is important for the use of modern security.
00:37In addition, the Executive Board of the Philippine Government
00:42has also proposed that the United Nations Security Council
00:48be permanently established in 2027 until 2028.
00:53Our foreign policy has always been to encourage peace
00:57and to foster cooperation,
00:59whilst also ensuring that international law is faithfully complied with
01:03and permeates all facets of relations amongst nations.
01:07For it is only through a rules-based international order
01:10that peace and development can be achieved.
01:13Our candidature is consistent with our long-held view
01:17that we need to further strengthen multilateralism
01:20through efforts that will reform the Security Council
01:23and revitalize the General Assembly.
01:27I take this opportunity anew to convey to your respective governments
01:31our earnest request for your support to our UNSC bid,
01:36and we hope for your support when the time comes
01:41when we are indeed sitting as a member of the Security Council.
