00:03It is... Is it true that, as reported,

00:07that the Home Office is monitoring Elon Musk's posts

00:12for potential extremist content?

00:14Not that I'm aware of.

00:16And that isn't something that you would approve of?

00:19I'm just not aware of it.

00:20So, my department does not monitor individuals,

00:24but it does monitor the internet itself for trends...

00:27Yes. ..in misinformation

00:28and trends in harmful content.

00:31And that is, as I say, not focused on individuals.

00:34That's not the work that we do,

00:35but we do try and monitor the focus of trends on the internet

00:40and then adjust accordingly.

00:42And, look, with all of what we're seeing,

00:44we have legislation which protects people.

00:47Illegal content on the internet must be taken down.

00:49None of the rights and protections and safety features

00:52that we have now baked into our online activity

00:55are up for negotiation.

00:56You know, so, let's see what unfolds.

00:59None of those things are ever going to be diminished

01:01by this government.

01:02We want to make sure we move forward

01:05with an online experience where people feel safe

01:08so they can fully explore all of the potential

01:09of online activity these days.
