Lakers coach Redick confirms loss of home in LA fires

JJ Redick struggled to hold back his emotions, as he confirmed his home had been destroyed by the fires in LA.

00:00Woke up at seven and still had my coach's uniform on and headed up the Palisades.

00:07I just kind of had to see it for myself.

00:11I was not prepared.

00:13I was not prepared for what I saw.

00:16It is complete devastation and destruction.

00:20I went through most of the village and it's all gone

00:23and I don't think you can ever prepare yourself for something like that.

00:30Our home is gone and everything we own that was of any importance to us

00:37almost 20 years together as a couple, 10 years of parenting, was in that house.

00:42And there are certain things that you can't replace that will never be replaced.

00:49And it's like weird.

00:50It's really weird.

00:52My son did an art project last year in St. Ann's in Brooklyn and

00:56it was like a charcoal pencil painting of a lighthouse.

00:59We had a frame above the stairs and you can't ever replace stuff like that.

01:06The material stuff is whatever.

01:09My family and I were processing the self side, the individual side of losing a home

01:16and you don't ever want to wish that on anybody.

01:19It's an awful feeling to lose your home.
