00:00for Cardiff City that might be, or should be perhaps, a really important month given
00:07the season that they've had so far. Clearly the squad hasn't been fit for purpose in the
00:12Championship so far this season, not scoring many, conceding too many as well, and they
00:17are sat languishing very close to the bottom of the division, and that's a real worry and
00:22a concern. And so if there is any available money to spend, I think that has to be spent
00:27this month if they are to stay in the division, because let's be honest, Cardiff don't want
00:32to go back down to League One, they've been there before, so it's not something they want
00:34to do again. And so what needs to happen in this window? Who do they need to bring in?
00:41What sort of players need to be in? I presume defence and the goalkeeping departments will
00:46be priority at least for now because of how many goals they are conceding, but of course
00:50they need to get goals in going in the other end as well, so I presume it's actually, as
00:54much as they're concerned, they could do with a whole range of new players coming in.
00:58Yeah, you know, you spot on there, I think it's a range of cliches that they are conceding
01:05too many goals and they're simply not scoring enough and they're obviously 23rd in the division.
01:10Luckily for them, it is only four points to sort of 18th from 23rd, which is quite incredible
01:16to show us how competitive the Championship is, but ideally right now, half a season really
01:22to go. They need to just make sure they focus on themselves. It's that simple. It's a massive
01:28window, and Marisa, the manager, has said that funds will be made available, so that
01:33is good news. Whether they get it right or not is then up to the owners and the hierarchy
01:38to see who they can bring in, but as you say, they need to buy either another defender or
01:43a striker for sure. 20th with goals per match scored, 20th with goals conceded in the Championship,
01:51so that sort of paints the picture that you need to see. 22nd in the clean sheets table
01:57and four clean sheets all season, so I think it's crucial that they shore up at the back
02:02personally. Goals can come, but I think ideally they need to literally just really set up
02:10to not concede goals at the moment. Robinson's up front, he's scoring a few goals, eight
02:15goals this season, isn't the end of the world, so it's not too bad, but certainly they need
02:20to shore up at the back. Then you look at a player to sell, maybe Perrier-Inge, I think
02:26his stock has certainly decreased massively over the last year or two. They obviously
02:30had run-ins with the likes of Arsenal and Spurs to get his signature, and they managed
02:36to tie down a new deal. He didn't play any minutes in their last game away at Middlesbrough.
02:43Maybe they can get a few funds for him mid-season and hopefully recoup that back into the side,
02:50but I think his stock has certainly dropped and maybe his decline at Cardiff is to do
02:55with how poor the team's been on and off the pitch.
