00:30He stated that investigators referred the case to the Prosecution Unit on Thursday

00:35but were directed to carry out further inquiries.

00:39In a statement on Friday, he confirmed that the brothers would be released upon the expiration

00:44of their remand.

00:46A third suspect, the boyfriend's father, has been released after becoming a prosecution

00:51witness.

00:52ACP Nazron assured that the investigation paper would be resubmitted once all instructions

00:58are fulfilled, emphasizing that police are committed to ensuring justice is served.

01:03The suspects were initially remanded until Sunday, with an extension until Friday.

01:08The case hinges on toxicology and post-mortem reports, which will determine whether 15-year-old

01:14Yap Shin Yuen's death resulted from an altercation or possible drug use.

01:21Selangor Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated that the toxicology report

01:27would confirm if Yap consumed drugs as police cannot yet determine whether her death was

01:33due to an overdose.

01:35He added that the post-mortem report is also awaited to establish the cause of death, noting

01:41that the condition of the decomposed body has complicated the work of pathologists.

01:47Yap was reported missing on December 19 after attending lion dance practice in Batu 11,

01:53Cheras.

01:54Her decomposed body was discovered on December 28 at RTB Sungai Changgang, leading police

01:59to classify the case as murder and make several arrests.

02:04Commissioner Hussein revealed that investigators are working to identify who dumped Yap's body

02:09in the river.

02:10Regarding claims of a confession, he said certain details of the investigation could
