00:35According to the National Economic Development Authority, the labor market continues to grow and employment numbers continue to improve.
00:44The Philippine Statistics Authority or PSA recorded the last decrease in the unemployment rate or the number of unemployed in the country in November of last year.
00:54According to the latest labor force participation survey of the PSA, the unemployment rate decreased by 3.2% in November from 3.9% in October.
01:04The number of employed or those who have a job increased to 96.8% or equivalent to 49.54 million who have a job or have a business.
01:15This is higher than the 96.1% employment rate in October last year and 96.4% in November of 2020.
01:24The number of underemployed also decreased by 10.8%.
01:27According to NEDA Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan, the next steps are to strengthen businesses and increase job opportunities so that Filipinos can actively contribute to the economy.
01:40Aside from this, we will also look for business upgrading and skills training programs to ensure that these jobs have competitive wages.
