Transcript
00:00After a scorch of a day across the islands, we're all hoping for a bit of relief tonight.
00:04So let's check in with Josette to see what's in store for us weather wise.
00:10Thanks Disha and good evening Trinidad and Tobago.
00:13A cooler night is definitely on the horizon.
00:16But before we get into that, let's talk about today.
00:19It was hot and I mean stand in front of the fridge and contemplate life kind of hot.
00:24If you managed to hit the beach today and yes, I'm talking to my friends who left me
00:27behind, I hope you all soaked it in.
00:30Across both Trinidad and Tobago, temperatures held steady at 31 degrees.
00:34So if your AC or fan gave out, I feel your pain.
00:38But here's some good news.
00:40Tonight is shaping up to be a fair and cool night with temperatures set to drop to 22
00:44degrees Celsius in Trinidad and 24 in Tobago.
00:47So it should be a welcome relief.
00:50Looking ahead into tomorrow, the sun will rise at 627 in Trinidad and 626 in Tobago.
00:56For those of you planning an early run for your carnival prep or looking to beat the
01:00traffic to get the kids to school early, there's your cue.
01:03The sun sets at 559 in Trinidad and 555 in Tobago.
01:08Weather wise now, tomorrow's conditions are looking to be fairly consistent with today.
01:13Expect mostly fair skies across Trinidad and Tobago and our neighbors over in the Lesser
01:18Antilles.
01:19But that being said, there is a chance of a few isolated moderate showers, especially
01:23near the hilly areas.
01:25Temperatures are looking to hover around 32 degrees Celsius in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
01:31Now if you're thinking about heading to the beach or venturing out to the sea, here's
01:34what you need to know.
01:36Seas are looking moderate with waves in open waters reaching as high as 2 meters.
01:40But they're a gentler 1 meter in some sheltered areas.
01:43It is shaping up to be a generally safe, but as always, stay cautious if you're planning
01:48any water activities.
01:50So here's a quick check in with your tide times.
01:55Now, shifting our attention abroad, wildfires in Los Angeles are causing widespread devastation.
02:06Five major fires have forced over 30,000 people to evacuate, with at least two fatalities
02:11reported and several injuries among firefighters and civilians.
02:15The state has mobilized over 1,400 firefighters and hundreds of resources to fight it.
02:22Among the fires, the Woodley Fire has already consumed 500 acres, adding to the chaos.
02:27Over 100 schools in Los Angeles have been closed as residents brace for what's next.
02:33And that's it for tonight's weather forecast.
02:35Stay cool, stay safe, and we'll see you tomorrow.
02:38More news after this break.
02:39Stay with us.
