00:00Police said they had denied permission for a solidarity rally for former Prime Minister

00:06Datuk Shri Najib Razak to be held in Putrajaya.

00:10They said they had informed the organisers of their decision on the rally that was planned

00:15for 9 a.m. on Monday near the Palace of Justice.

00:19Putrajaya OCPD Assistant Commissioner Aidisham Mohamed said police received an application

00:25on December 31, but they found the application to be incomplete.

00:30He said the police had prepared some 456 personnel for security control that day.

00:36The rally was supposed to coincide with the Court of Appeals' hearing related to an

00:40alleged royal addendum order that will allow Najib to serve the rest of his prison term

00:45under house arrest.

00:47Gerakan Pembela Umar and Pekasa said they will bring at least 5,000 members to the rally

00:52to call on the government to come clean on alleged addendum decree by the 16th Yang

00:57Dipertuan Agong.

00:59They said they will concede any court decision on Najib that day, but they questioned why

01:04the issue regarding the alleged addendum decree had not been explained to the public.

01:09PAS called on its leaders to mobilise members for the rally, while Armno and MCA said they

01:15will not attend the rally.

01:17MIC said they will hold a prayer vigil in Batu Caves instead to show solidarity for

01:24Najib.

01:25Armno said they respect the constitutional authority of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the

01:3017th King of Malaysia, regarding Najib's case.

01:34On Friday, Istana Nagara said the king has the prerogative under the federal constitution

01:39to pardon, postpone sentences and relieve punishments for offences.

01:45Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razaruddin Hussain said people should not take part in

01:50any rally on the alleged addendum as a sign of respect for the prerogative power of the

01:56king.
