Glass breaks into pieces as gentleman repositions it for Christmas dinner setup

It was Christmas Day when this lad and gentleman decided to bring the dining table from the garden into their home.  The air was filled with holiday cheer as they worked together to maneuver the hefty table.  They tried every angle to fit it through the door, but the door proved too narrow.  Their determination, however, led them to remove the glass top.  As they lifted the glass to reposition it, something unexpected happened.
